Jazz guitar / bass duo recordings?

Sign in to disble this ad
The search function won't let me search for "guitar", so I'm left to this...

Looking for recordings of the above that have no other instruments - just bass and guitar, in a jazz standards format (Autumn leaves, Wave, stuff like that). Don't care if the bass is electric or double bass - just has to be GOOD.

Yeah, I posted this same thread in the DB section. Just trying to cover all my basses... er, BASES. ;-) Thanks in advance!

For some instant gratification you can check out the great vids that the String Emporium has put on Youtube.

Especially Falling Grace with Steve Laspina....smokin'

All good suggestions.

In addition, if you EVER come across a duet recording by Jim Hall and Red Mitchell, originally released on Artist House Records in about 1978 but never released on CD (to my knowledge, anyway), jump on it immediately. It's that good.

Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen and Philip Catherine have an album together, it's full of mind blowing stuff like this:
