anyone who loves Jerry Jemmott's bass playing on the classic BB King "Live and Well" and "Completely Well" might also enjoy Jemmott on a couple old Freddie King albums from around '69 or '70:
"Freddie King is a Blues Master" and "My Feeling For the Blues". the latter is the better of the 2, thanks to Donny Hathaway's soul-full horn/ensemble arrangements, and also the mix and production just sounds better, though conceptually they're pretty similar records. probably not impossible to find on the internet. try half.com, gemm.com, etc. |
