Jive-Talking

Hi,

I 've been recently listening to some disco music for the great bass
lines.

Jive -talking was a huge hit for the Bee Gees and has a good bass line..but
the bass sounds very different than anything else I'm hearing
from that time.. very rough or distorted some how.. I'm not sure

Does anyone have a clue how Maurice Gibbs got that sound?

P-bass with the upper mids pushed a little more. Sort of a hollow sound but it worked for that tune.
