This trio is my absolute favourite McLaughlin stuff. Kai is absolutely fantastic on these records too. Without a doubt the best bass tone that Kai has had too!

Baddest set of M*****F***** for a long long time. I love what Trilok does in his solo projects too and Kai is fantastic!!

However, I would like to mention one more line-up of Mclaughlin's group that I'm a huge fan of - Matt Garrison on Bass, Dennis Chambers on Drums and Wayne Shorter on Sax. Search for videos on youtube. They're killing it. The recorded a a show in the mid 90's and that stuff is still there on youtube, I think.

It's the best version of his band, much better than the times with Di Piazza IMHO, mostly because of the mischievous complicity between Gurtu and Eckhardt.

Actually, this is one of my favorite albums ever.

I wouldn't class it as one of my favourite albums, but the quality of the recording is fantastic. What is truely remarkable is that it's a crystal clear reproduction of a live concert from the 1980's.

Also, the intro to Florianapolis is just incredible.

I'll go there with Jazz Ad, this is one of my favorites as well. Still gets regular play after all these years.
