Has anyone heard this phenomonal CD? It's some of hte best fusion I've heard. I love it! Are there any other CDs that are this great? The bass playing is amazing. Any real info on Jonas Hellborg? I know very little about him, I've read an interview, that's about it.

Do a search, but my favorite from this duo (Lane/Hellborg) are Temporary Analogues of Paradise, Two Doors (now out of print, but under the name of drummer Michael Shrieve), and Abstract Logic.

Yeah, great bassist huh? I didnt hear of him until a few years ago as well, guess he does not like too much publicity since his 80's stuff. I really like his Improv/Jam cd's.

check out http://www.bardorecords.com for his label you can get his stuff there or some other stuff on http://www.abstractlogix.com

Yeah I read an interview from him and he's quite a weird guy...very weird, but an awesome bassist. Does anyone know if he's done any shred heavy stuff? My guitarist wants to hear him, and he's a little to closed minded for indian fusion:-o

Try the discs that he recorded as a trio with Shawn Lane (RIP) and Jeff Sipe:
'Personae' and 'Temporal Analogues of Paradise' are two to check out.

www.jonashellborg.de is a fansite with some good pics, videos and article scans.

All the albums with Shawn Lane are excellent! What a mind meld those guys had!!! Turn your guitar player on to Shawn Lane, one of the greats, that never got the recognition he deserved......he was a great keyboard player/ composer also.
