What can I say? Damn, she's good. This is probably what Janis Joplin woulda done if she had a little more time(i.e. The Kosmic Blues Band material was step in this direction).
Stone's backing band is kick ass, too. Peter Iannacone is the bassist...he's the bassist on "Jet Lag"(from the
Mind. Body, Soul album); he also does a great job covering the other stuff(like "Fell In Love With A Boy" from
Soul Sessions).
The guitarist is David Gilmore from Lost Tribe...definitely a diifferent setting than I'm used to hearing from him!
The DVD is from a concert in NYC Sept 9, 2004. In other words, it's not the recent PBS
Austin City Limits thing.
There's also a mini-documentary with live footage from the US & Europe.
