WHY? Well it's a great record. I played it for my 13 year old daughter the other day. It had been about 7-8 years since I have played the record and was again(!) knocked out by how damn good it is.
It's not a technical marvel, nor does it have tricky bass lines or flashy guitar parts, but the sum here is a terrific collection of music that just works. Rock nonsense and high drama, beer drinkin', head bangin', and beautiful.
Rob Halford's vocals are so good, and the each song has just enough content to render it great, but not over done. It comes off as a roots Metal album, but suffices also as a very cool rock record.
Thoughts?

Next was Sin After Sin, then Sad Wings of Destiny.
These are still my top three Priest albums, with Sad Wings being my #1. |

Sin After Sin is wonderful too, but I must also include Stained Class as one of their best albums ever. Not a dud in the bunch and seamlessly produced. Halford's voice couldn't have been better and the guitar tone what made metal metal. Thanks for the trip down Memory Lane!
