i just finished recording bass for our next full length. here's what i used (crappy cell phone pics)

Mesa 400+ for clean and slightly dirty sounds
JCM 800 for a really dirty sound
both ran through a Bergantino NV610
3 different mic's on the cab and one DI.

1978 Fender Precision mostly for fingerstyle but we got a really good punk-ish sound out of it but just diming all three eq knobs on the 400+
2006 Jazz, this was my main bass i used on like 8 or 9 out of 12 songs
another 2006 Jazz tuned to E standard, used this for 1 and a half songs.

it belongs to my guitar player. the other guitarist has a 100 watt jmp, but the 800 seemed to retain more low end in the break up. i love it.

awesome. 78 Precision>JCM800>Berg 610. the 30 year old pick ups in the fender are so hot, we kept the gain at like 3 and it was so gnarly sounding. i'm not sure what model it is, but its a 1980 or 81 (the first year they made the jcm800), 50 watt.
