| | | | I'm playing on a Music Man Stingray HH. Great bass, I love it. And what you are hearing is all the preamp tone from the music man. I plug straight into my computer for recording. |

| | | | That trill is sexy. Good quality, but I'm sure you'll get better with some more gear.
And yeah, its the right forum. Wish there was more recordings in "recordings". Guess I better get to work. |

I know they have ways to hook up instruments and having almost no quality loss. You'd have to research that on your own. Personally, I use a 1/4 " female to a 1/8" male. I plug it into the line in or microphone in on my sound card, and run it through a sound editing program called REAPER. What you are hearing is strictly the bass and its preamp. I don't quite have the budget to record through an amp that DI's into my computer via mixers and such (I don't even know all the equipment that would be needed).
Thanks again for all the feedback! I enjoy knowing that people like what I record. |

But BTW, not sure if yours but the "Down on the Corner" riff is incorrect. Before the last C is a B, not A. |

| | | | Cool but sounds more like rock than funk to me. Laid back funk requires flats. |

My sound card is a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Pro 7.1 Channels 24-bit 192KHz PCI Interface Sound Card. REAPER has a setting where you can set the latency when recording. I first had problems with it because when I would pluck a note, it would be played through the speakers about 2 seconds after. I set the latency down to 10 ms and everything has been fine since.
