Just started recording

Just started recording some songs I wrote, Kinda doing the solo project thing. On all but one of the songs I play every instrument and sing, so It's not the best guitar playing and drumming, but the bass is pretty sick Any feedback or constructive criticism would be welcome!

heh, you're as bad at mixing as I am

get somebody else to record your stuff and I think it'll sound really good.

Tell you what - I can't hear Reverbnation tracks at work (USAF Network doesn't allow for these kinds of things!) nor can I get to my own SoundCloud site, so I'll like your page and check it when I get home tomorrow if you can like mine:

Your songs are pretty good IMO, possibly something I would listen to on a regular basis.

However, as stated before, the mix just doesn't sound right.

First, you have to learn how to mic your drums better. There are tons of information on that subject on the Internet.
Also, you could add compression on most tracks when recording to make things more even and "cleaner" (drums especially, in your case, but you cn aplly them to vocals, guitars, bass too). A good compressor is more often than not essential to a good sound on recordings.
Your bass sound is good, but if you want to record guitars, drums and vocals, you have to make them sound good too. You can ask some more experienced sound engineer how they do it, or just go with trial and error. Sometimes it's a thing of post-recording EQ, sometimes it's just a matter of recording it better.

My comments, in a flash :
-Kick is not mic'd properly, sounds harsh and too boomy. It "sucks up" the mix every time the kick hits.
-Vocals and guitars are hidden under the bass track (unless it's really what you want, vocals should be on top so people hear the lyrics correctly)
-Are drums exported in mono? I hear them only in my left earphone.
-Tracks are not clean enough. At the beginning of each song you hear the noise of the guitar tracks before the first note/chord, which is not a good thing.
-Overall mix is not good enough. as IconBasser said, you could ask someone more experienced to do it for you, or just practice and read a lot and become yourself more experienced in mixing.

Good songs though!! Sorry if I sounded harsh, I just try to be honest with everyone asking for feedback, because personnaly I hate it when people just tell me "It's good" and give me no constructive criticism.

Keep on rockin' man!

Not harsh, this is the kind of response I'm looking for! Alot of the problem with drums is the fact that I'm using an electric kit, and not a high end one. It's really tough to get good sound out of it. What you said really makes sense though, cuz I do need to spend more time tweaking the sounds of everything else as much as I did my bass sound xD. The mixing thing is just crap though lol. I've never done this before, and I'm having a little trouble understanding just exactly what I'm doing and how I'm doing it. When I get home, I'm gonna try to readjust the mix and experiment with compression. Thanks for the help!
