Nice! Grech with a big hunk of foam rubber under the strings. I wonder if he left it there for the whole show?

I love those old clips, but the "psychedelic" camera work/video editing always drove me nuts. Let's skip the "in-out-in-out" zooming thing and let me see how the musicians are playing their instruments! Thankfully, this clip only had a little of that.

Who was on bass in the newer clip? Didn't look like Nathan East, was it Willie Weeks?

looks and sounds like Willie to me....

Steve Winwood is in my Top 5 favorite musicians... Thanks for the links, I hadn't seen the newer clip before.

The newer clip is from Clapton's 2007 Crossroads benefit concert - the double DVD is great - grab yourself a copy!

And yes, it's Willie Weeks on his old 50's P-bass

Yeah, I was trying to figure out if that's a real '58 P, or a custom shop re-issue.. Great tone.. classic old school fender.

Great to A/B that! Astonishing that the backline got smaller and the sound so much better.
