Man that was one of the first bass solos I saw when i was starting out. My mom had that dvd and watched it all the time. Takes me back...

Yep, that's Ric Fierabracci. He's an amazing player who's been one of favorites for a long time. The dude's amazing. I think he's endorsed by Laurus basses from Italy.

This is back in the 80's when most stuff was pretty wanky. He's got some good stuff out now. I've got his latest CD called "Hemispheres" and it's really good.

and, as Bill Bruford intimated after his participation in the Yes Union tour, one pride-shattering high profile sappy pop gig can pay for an awful lot of progressive, challenging, and poorly attended/utterly uncommercial performances.
