The Killers: 'When you Were Young"

Anybody else out there like this song? I thas a real 80s feel, but what really struck me is how it is supercharged with straight eigth note roots. I heard this song live on MTV, and even with the singer not playing his keys and the guitarist soloing, the eigths just filled up so much space. It is a great example of a simple bassline being perfect for a song.

I like it. The singer has been quoted in interviews saying it was influenced by Springsteen songs. I can definitely hear the influence. Lots of "Born To Run"-style touches throughout, especially the walkdown that leads into the bridge.
