I like the bears, (and I actually can't stand the Beatles), so I am suprised I liked them so much!!
The Bears is either the band Belew played in just before KC, or the one he formed during and after....
All the musicians in that band were top notch, so if he is on the level...he is a heavy hitter, that's for sure! |

Regardless, that's sweet. Belew helluva songwriter and seems really cool.

We were active in the mid to late 80's (two records on an IRS subsidiary), did a support tour or two for Adrian in the 90's (where that recording originated), then released a new record in 2001 & toured a little, released a DVD, got another one on way.
It's all here. |

I never heard of you guys... but this is killer! It actually reminds me of XTC Trying to sound like the beatles (Oranges and Lemons)... except a whole lot better... and you guys came out before Oranges and Lemons.
That's seriously some great stuff... really good bass playing too!!

That's seriously some great stuff... really good bass playing too!! | Thanks - glad you like it! Back in the day we got compared to XTC frequently, which we didn't understand because we didn't listen to them back then...Oranges & Lemons was the first record of theirs I bought...then I kind of got what they (journalists) were talking about. Not surprisingly, I really like XTC now that I know them. I don't think any of those bands sound that similar really, but stylistically similar in that it's fairly adventurous music that retains pop sensibilities.
I'm really looking forward to the next release...they pretty much cut me loose on a few tracks and I'm pretty excited about it. |

Fixed it. They are quite slick, but I wouldn't delcare them any variant of God... or Gods. I like Black Sea better.

I should have known you were Bob Nyswonger by your user name! Wow this is really cool. I love the self titled album. The song Trust , which you wrote didnt you?, is a great song. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find the other two albums anywhere . But wow, I guess you could call me a fan boy , but your playing is very good and tasteful!

The two from the 80's are unfortunately in corporate purgatory. You can get them on Ebay, but they're stupidly expensive.
Yup, I wrote Trust...it's holding up pretty well for being (yikes) 20 years old at this point. Thanks for listening. |

I'm a fan of Crimson and Belew solo (I even have Belew's first three or four records - not so much collector's albums as they used to be), so it's curious that I've never gotten into the Bears. I know I would love you guys Bob, sorry I haven't bought your work yet. Nice MP3. |
