Seriously impressed right now. Why doesn't she make this kind of music instead of the crap she records right now?

This is probably how she wrote the tune. Meh its not that impressive. She can sing and play a little piano but she's no Billy Holiday.

Didn't she produce for Akon and others before she came famous?

Because she has to make what will sell. Which do you think appeals more to the 12-17 age range? This almost sounds too Disney with the upbeat piano. More for the 7-11 age group, maybe?

And by the way, what the heck is she wearing?

Second edit: She sounds really good without the autotune. It's almost sad that the sound of autotuned vocals is standard in pop today (EHX V256 anyone?).

She's got more talent then most of the rubbish in the charts (Pussycat Dolls anyone?). My personal idea is to band music videos or pictures of artists, the only way to see them would be to watch them live. A little draconian, but it's a small price to pay to bankrupt Rihanna.

Nice job! I think I might pay more attention to her after seeing this. Thanks for the link.

I like Lady Gaga, she's a little crazy and a lot of fun and her music videos are completely wackadoodle. Just watch the video for "Paparazzi", no one else would have the johns to do a concept video about being paralyzed by and then killing your boyfriend; complete with wheelchair and braces dance sequence. She and Kanye West know how to be pop stars and its about time we got some real ones.

Wow, thanks for sharing Muusers! I really enjoyed that actually.

Glad to know there's more to her music then what we hear on the radio and TV.
(I'm going to refrain from making a 'Poker Face' joke regarding her music because 1 - its too easy, and 2 - I doubt it will be funny )

I actually think that what she's putting out is some of the best pop around. If you actually listen to it you just have to admire the quality of the production and the whole electro thing they have going on is pretty good as well.

Furthermore I think it is pretty stylefull to be so over the top tasteless and the uber cheesy lirics just add to the whole "over the top pop" vibe. You just shouldn't take it serious becuase she isn't either.

Well, she was on a Julliard track at 11 years old and did go to Tisch School of the Arts....

It's kind of funny. A very camp friend of my friend's girlfriend put a vid up on facebook of him playing poker face on piano. Naturally it just looked so stupid and cheesy we died. Now I see he was just imitating this video! I like her just for the fact all the songs crack me up. Would I pay for anything? Nah unless Man Law #1 was involved.

I read that she did a bunch of songwriting for other pop acts, then figured, hey, why shouldn't I really cash in on this?
