Lakland DJ-5 (with Fralins) Soundclip - "Ain't No Stopping Us Now" cover

Sign in to disble this ad
This is a rough mix of a cover of Mcfadden and Whitead's "Ain't No Stopping Us Now" that I did bass for. I played my Lakland DJ-5 with Lindy Fralin Pickups (so it sounds just like a JO-5 would), recorded direct to the board with a bit of compression. Both pickups and tone on full.

Let me know what you think. Enjoy!!!

Sounds good, man. Makes me want to take out my Barts and put the Fralins back in in my JO5.

Very good playing although I wonder if y'all strayed from the form of the original on purpose? A couple of bass notes and chords were incorrect. If that was intentional, please disregard! As for the bass sound.......Very clean and articulate! Every note was clean and could be heard. Just the right amount of compression! I dug it!

Thanks. It's all intentional - No sense in a making a carbon copy of the original, ya know
