Which version do you like? I love this song written by Genesis... I grew up hearing this song and the chorus just gets me for some reason, really love it...
Anyways... I recently heard Disturbed and In Flames did their remake of this song... I'll put 'em up here, see what you like : ) http://youtube.com/watch?v=XEONfGP1aYE (Genesis) http://youtube.com/watch?v=YIIuzaYItpU (Disturbed) http://youtube.com/watch?v=cWxBwOqla3g (In Flames)
Keep in mind, i mean the song. Not the video ;p
All that said... Im a big in flames fan, and I love the original... and the Disturbed version took me by surprise, i like them all >.< lol

I don't see why anyone would ever want to scream a Genesis song...In Flames should stick to whatever it is that they usually do.

Disturbed version is good, like the songs on their album better though.
the In Flames version is flat out stupid. The whole point of remaking a song is doing something to make it novel or maybe even better in some way. All they did was play the song faster and scream it. It just sounded like a sped up version with a puberty scream on it.
Ug, don't remake a song if you are going to ruin it. |

Disturbed made a good, radio-friendly cover of it, it doesn't exactly add anything special but sounds pretty nice - I think the main difference is a bit more distortion in the guitars.. In Flames's version is practically like Disturbed's but worse.

-Alex | that IS what they do.
I think if you are a hardcore thrash metal fan, you might dig the in flames version. I think the Disturbed version is great, but as a thrash guy (among funk and whatever groove related), the in flames is cool.
this from a guy who grew up on Slayer, Pantera, Death Angel and Dark Angel...blah blah......and lately wearing out every Mastodon album out there.......(while making a main gig out of a bluegrass band)
Not trying to say you should like the in flames version, but huge difference from the Disturbed/ In Flames and who they would appeal to. |

Disturbed get my vote - I know the original anyway and find Phil Collins' voice annoying...it's a great song though.
