Well, The Lawrence Welk show did have a live big band orchestra. And the Talk Shows but there was a lot of money going into those shows....they could afford it.

Larry Graham's instructional videos are the ultimate in funk, IMO. The thing about Larry Graham is that the man is a born entertainer! I can watch him all day, and I don't care how fast Victor Wooten is, slapping have never gotten better than Graham.
