Latin-Funk: Not entirely "Latin" & not entirely "Funk"...somewhere in-between, so there's some compromising. I would say 'most' leans towards "funkers" adding in some of their Latin influence(s).

Old Skool bands that sound like-
Santana (like the 1st 3 albums)
Mandrill
Fania All-Stars
Gonzalez

IIRC, early EW&F had some Latin-Funk instrumentals...

Early 'smooth' Jazz like-
Spyro Gyra (especially with bassist Oscar Cartaya)
Dave Valentin (w/ bassist Lincoln Goines)

A bit later-
Michel Camilo w/ Anthony Jackson & El Negro.
