Learning Dani california by ear...looking for opinions?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi :-) I'm attempting to learn Dani California, and this is 90% by ear, so I'd like opinions on it. I'm still not sure on the solo, so I stopped before the end of the song, but I think this video can give people a general idea where I'm going with it :-)

Are you trying to get it just like the album, or just the gist of the song?

Anyway, you've got the roots right, the rhythm of the chorus is off a bit. As for the solo, it's just the chorus with some fills, and then ends by going up the scale, it shouldn't be too tough to learn since you already have so much of the song memorized.

Just trying to get the gist of it - just get something that sounds good along with the song. Not really aiming to duplicate it...

Just A G D with a run on the D isn't it?

Sorry, idk :-/ I don't know much in the way of theory (not even much about notes) because I either use tabs or play everything by ear. Although I know 5th fret on the A is a D, so the run on the d (with the palming) is correct.
