Learning Simple Man might not be so simple

I'm Listening to "Simple Man" Working out the bass parts. It sounds very difficult. I'm starting to get the feel and I think its a lot of root/fifth movement. Very groovy. Has any one here ever break the song down by ear? Or does anyone know it well?

The more I listen and focus the more I am getting. Its not only R/5th but there is some obvious movement between the chords. Anyone?

The August 2007 issue of Guitar World has the tab in it. I've never tried it out, but their stuff is usually fairly close. Took a glance and there are a lot of root/5 stuff, w/ some 2/3/5 moving to next chord.

Great song and bass line. 5ths / octaves / passing notes - the whole thing. It's amazing how interesting they can make a 3 chord song.

There are Guitar Pro tabs that are pretty good and will get you started in the right direction.
