Anyone heard this disc yet? If so, what's your thoughts?
I dig it. But I dig just about anything he does. It's "Purple Onion" esque. I find it to be "Les" sloppy than some of his earlier stuff.
Worth checking out? Always!!! |

To me, this record seems a little more like his older stuff (sort of strage like Highball With The Devil)... which is a good thing. His Bass is amazing on this album. I like the Marimba and Horns as well.
Yes, I capitalize instrument names.

Being a Floyd fan, "Live Frog: Set 2" does kick butt (I love his tone on that one!). I am really digging "5 Gallons of Diesel" too. |

I've missed the last decade of material for the most part. I've just started buying up what I've missed over the last year and with this and the new Tool... I've stepped right back into my 1993 music mind set. |

Anti-Pop is VERY underrated. Some really good stuff happening on that CD. I think it caught some flak mainly due to its perceived lack of cohesiveness thanks to its many contributors, but I thought it worked quite well.
The Brown Album, OTOH, sounds like it was recorded in a sewer pipe. But maybe that's just me.

I'm joking of course, as I do think Brain is an incredible drummer, it's just that Herb is very much a hero of mine.
I like this new one, especially Rumble of the Diesel and Off-white Guilt. Purple Onion is by far my favorite album he's been involved with since Pork Soda. C2B3 was a massive disappointment, that album just didn't click with me other than Elephant Ghost and Buckethead (the song).
Huge Claypool fan right here, MFer got me to pick up bass in the first place back in 1992.
