I know i know it has nothing to do with bass playing move this thread if you'd like I'm just curious that second microphone les claypool uses ...... what is it? why is it different ? who's it made by ..... whats it purpose? etc....etc....  |

They sound distorted when used for vocals like in Tommy the Cat and Jerry was a Race Car Driver. Could be something completely different though but a lot of people use harmonica mics of distorted vocals. |

Basically you have one mic for your "clean" singing that goes through compressor, EQ, reverb, whatever. Then you have a "dirty" mic that gets fed through more effects. A lot of times it's used for a gritty lo-fi sound, so harmonica mics and the like are popular because they're so easy to overdrive with your voice.
