Line6 Toneport help

Sign in to disble this ad
When recording with my mates toneport I get a very nice clean signal, but there's a big problem that I can't seem to get round. I either get a very nice clear signal with no cracking in the recording, but there's no way of modifying the input level, or I can use the mixer in the POD farm and change the level but it seems to be a little much for the CPU or some other part of the signal chain and crackling appears on the recording, most likely due to the strain of running 2 memory intensive programs at the same time. Is there any way round this at all? Can I get away with using an XLR adaptor and then using the mic input or will that probably not work out?

To reduce the strain on the cpu try to adjust the latency settings. A higher latency reduces the cpu load but in return you get more delay in the signal which can become irritating.

Yeah I need the direct monitoring really, I think I might just have to see how well the mic input works out, although I can't remember how big the difference in impedance is between a very generalised electric instrument levels and mic levels. Just irritating cos it works VERY smoothly without the POD farm running too, and I seem to get the crackling with both cubase and POD farm running even with low settings.

*Bump*

Anyone got any ideas? Will I be able to get away with using the mic input? I can't remember how severe the difference in typical output is.
