Well, I was listening to Kraftwerk (as u do, I am a big fan, all their albums etc.) Well anyway I was listening to the song Computer Love when i realized that the melody of it has been USED by coldplay on one of their tracks (which i can't think of the name of right now.) If anyone else familiar with this song could confirm this i'd like to know

Their early early recordings were more weird Krautrock synth noodling, which I dig a bit more though.

As long a the Kraftwerk boys get their props (and a royalty check), I guess...I'll just be annoyed. It would never enter my mind to lift an intact melody and pad it. I don't consider that songwriting. |

My dad's a kraut, so I heard heaps of Kraftwerk growing up. Rammstein did a great cover of the Model, 'Das Model'.

What's obnoxious, though, is that "Talk" is a note-for-note copy of "Computer Love," even in the arrangement. Simply setting different lyrics to it is the kind of thing one would expect from P(uff) D(a/i)ddy.

During the 80's bands started lifting their sound, which is why their music sounds sorta "80's".

I also have the tone float, kraftwerk I, Ralf and Florian, Kraftwerk II that was early 70's. Really good stuff, it mixes traditional instruments with very early ''cutting-edge'' electronic sound, worth a listen |

Much as I enjoy Kraftwerk, I fail to see this as problematic (unless you're calling the whole industry problematic, which is a whole new thread).
Who the hell hasn't heard of Computer Love? |
