Does anyone know where I can find Colonel Claypools Flying Frog Brigade's version of Jethro Tull's Locomotive breath. I have heard it probably three times on sirius, and I wold really like to get a hold of it. It is a live cut if that helps.

I love that arrangement, but those vocals suck, IMO. Was that Claypool singing?

A little too plain a cover. Without piano and flute... it's kinda bleh. I don't think I'm a fan of Skerik in Frog Brigade.

And those vocals... lets just say Ian Anderson is a great vocalist...

But I thought they did a KILLER job with Thelahun Jinjeet (I know that's not the right way to spell it)... and it's a King Crimson cover! That's rough!

I had boots on cassette of real early Primus (before Suck on This) doing all sorts of covers... I like Tull and Floyd with Les' quirkiness

my old guitarist lived in Redwood City and was jamming with one of Les' students... he use to mail me cassettes of the stuff going down in that area in the late 80s. I had copies of stuff he bought at shows.

+1. The piano and flute to me are essential to that song.

Les is a great bass player, but his vocals suck. But for the type of music he generally plays, it works.

I think Claypool generally does pretty good covers, Tull being the exception.
They did Pink Floyd's "Have A Cigar", as well as the Live Frogs albums which contain covers of "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" and the entire "Animals" album. And let us not forget "The Awakening".
I've seen Claypool live 5 times (6 in November). I've seen him cover Floyd, Zappa, and Rush. Each time I thought he nailed it.
It all depends on what band he's covering. In the case of Locomotive Breath, I'm not too crazy about that one. The vocals didn't fit too good, Skerik definitely didn't sound right. The whole thing was just kinda boring, like the band didn't really feel like playing it.
