I'm looking for some music featuring bassist Louis Johnson. Anyone have any suggestions on what CD to get, etc.

Thanks!

Thanks for the site. But I was looking for something a little more specific - like a certain CD that you would reccomend. Actually buying the CD isn't a problem. It's what to buy.....

He is on "Off the Wall" by Michael Jackson. He even co-wrote one of the tunes.

I also highly recommend any of the late 70's Brother's Johnson records.

My personal suggestions would be .....
  • Right On Time - Bros. Johnson
  • Blam! - Bros. Johnson
  • The Dude - Quincy Jones
  • Look Out for #1 - Bros. Johnson
  • Off The Wall - Michael Jackson
  • I'm sure I'm forgetting a bunch, but I'll toss 'em up later when they occur to me.

Peace,

James

I bought this a while back - it has all the hits and must-hear tunes. LJ is a brilliant bassist all around, aside frim the slap stuff he's most noted for.
