I love this genre (90's-current) R&B/Neo-Soul. I'm already hip to a lot of it, I'm just looking for more good stuff.
My favorites are the REALLY laid back slow grooves (D'angelo, badu). Love that stuff.
ALSO, I really like stuff that's more R&B and less Hip-Hop, meaning less "beats" and more real instruments and drums.
I'm hip to
Amp Fiddler
Erykah Badu
Jill Scott
Van Hunt
D'Angelo
Amel Larrieux
Corinne Bailey Rae
Kindred The Family Soul
Maxwell
Meshell Ngedeocello
Mint Condition
Remy Shand
Lewis Taylor
What else is there? Who are your favs?

The Dap Kings also played on Amy Winhouse's Back to Black album, tho the band was mixed much more "modern" (the drums and vox way in front) |

He's got the whole bag of notes. Not all of his stuff is in this vein but he's a deep cat.
Word was D'angelo flew LT to NY to work on tunes but flaked out.One can only hope either one of those guys does some more.
RAHSAAN PATTERSON has some cool stuff too. |

He kind of strikes me as a cross between Seal and Al Jarreau.....

Check out the neo sol united series from glory records. Jazzy Jeff has a neo soulf mix that's pretty good. Don't remember is Maxwell was brought up. Amp fiddler produced wrote and played keys on some of his stuff. And bestlob lacy of badu fame played with geno young and Carmen Rodgers. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
