Looking for some pure jazz records that are somewhat easy-transcribable and just jazz records with great bass playing in them!

"Kind of Blue" by Miles Davis is the best-selling jazz recording of all time. It's great place to start, and much of it is relatively accessable in terms of harmony. Paul Chambers' bass playing on that recording is superb.

EDIT: If you're intersted in studying jazz, I would recommend finding a teacher.
