Marcus kills all over that record. Much better than most of his solo stuff IMO.
SilverRain is cool also.

In fact the first one I thought was "The sun don`t lie", so I guess I`m not helping to choose only one.

I just saw him live this weekend in Hollywood. Actually I stayed after the first show and watched the second show as well.
There was a lot more improv among all the players. During the second show he even brought up a beat box vocalist and did a little drum and bass with her. Her name is Butterscotch - watch out for that one. Very nice to speak with after the show too.
The Ozell Tapes are advertised as "bootleg" quality which it's not, but ovbiously it is not as polished as the studio versions.
After Ozell Tapes, get Sun Don't Lie, and M2, then get all the rest.
If you cherry pick off iTunes, make sure to get both versions of "Panther". It's about the only tune I've seen him play at every show that I've gone to over the years. |

-will | I`ve been watching his "Master of all trades" DVD recently and the list of album credits (as player, producer, arranger, etc.) is simply incredible.

IIRC, the studio version is much tamer.

Another Marcus sideman project I like is Straphanging by The Brecker Brothers.
