Nice find. I hope D'angelo can make it back to a stage after his accident.

I was before you made me doubt

but i rewatch it.. and this is completly his face when he's playing... and it look like a kind of show with a lot of different artist performance.. so it make sense and Clapton bring Gadd, it's funny that Gadd is playing the Guero tought..

Doesn't look or sound like Gadd to me... but hard to tell.

Great groovin' band... although hearing D'angelo sing that tune makes me realize how great Bill Withers is.... he's not even in the same universe as Bill vocally IMO.

If you want to hear this tune groove so hard it will make you cry for your momma... get the Bill Withers Live from Carnagie Hall CD... a classic of totally behind the beat, nasty, funky, dirty grooves!

Edit: Sorry, I thought you meant Gadd was playing drums...

Awesome vid. I'm not familiar with the original, but I think I'm gonna have to track it down.

I think that's Don Alias on percussion, not Tito Puente.

No, he may not be Bill Withers but I'll take him over 99% of the "artists" that pass themselves off as R&B these days. Same goes for Raphael Saddiq. Big ups to Meshell as well. Great cover. Good to see D'Angelo in action again.

He is working on his album there is a tentative title, i forget what it is.

He has been playing some keyboards for the Roots and others in studio sessions lately though. Other than that hes trying to recover from accident and dealing with his drug prioblems

Awesome! Can't wait to hear his album. I dont know if he's gonna do more soulful stuff or do more funky stuff (like he did live...awe man...his live show was reminiscent of ToP), but either way he goes, it should be good...

...although I said the same about Mos Def's follow-up, and we all know how that went. ;/
