In 2001 I hadn't played bass for 7 years and just happened to come across a clip of him playing a solo on the Mile Davis Story on TV. I thought "I like the sound of that" and within two weeks was playing in a jazz band. Now playing double bass and never looked back. |

And yeah, there are a few covers. 2 not far from the originals and 1 way over the top and unheard of before (sorta like his version of Teen Town). Marcus always pulls one outta his hat! Many may not dig what they hear but he's probably as well rounded a musician you'll find! Can do it all......on multiple instruments to boot. His talent can not be denied! Ever! I don't know why this one is not on his website. I do know this is an import and the demand for jazz is way higher there than here in the US.

| | | | +1 about this album
there's a fantastic slap version of a tower of power song "what is hip"
on the original track , the bass line is hard to play but marcus miller's version is mind blowing!! |
