So the story goes....
We recorded our first full length album in mid june, in under 7 total days of tracking. The album went really well, and I only had one minor issue with the sound used on one song, but I digress...
Yesterday, our Master copy and tape, yes tape were sent to Trutone mastering Labs in NY. Joe Lambert is taking an interest and decided to master the album.
Here is a little detail on his working credentials...
Joe has developed a worldwide client base, working with a wide variety of record labels and artists including Kanye West, Warren Haynes, Stephen Sondheim, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Marc Broussard, Angelo Badalamenti, The Bottle Rockets, Wyclef Jean, Don Byron, R Kelly, Alice Cooper, Mandy Patinkin, Amber, Stephen Lynch, Ted Nugent, Athletic Mic League, Eagle Rock Entertainment, Relativity Records, V2 Records, Nonesuch, Internet Direct, Artemis Records, Arista, Red Hot Records and Anthem Records.
Recently Joe mastered 2 Grammy nominated records, Don Byron's "Ivey-Divey", nominated for Best Jazz Album, and "Assassins" for Best Musical.
The album will be in his hands today, mastered by the end of the week, and back in my hands early next week. We decided to go all Analog. After the digital signal is put through the all analog signal path, onto tape, it will be transferred back to CD/DVD and master disk.
We will have a Master disk, Reel of tape and a proof copy when all is said an done. After this is done, and copyrighting is issued, it will be available on iTunes, and getting reproduced and for sale on our website.
Nothing from the new album has been uploaded, but check out the site anyway, and keep in touch. www.frictionbroadcast.com www.myspace.com/frictionbroadcast |

My band (This Blue Heaven) is finishing up tracking and mixing, and our producer actually suggested Joe Lambert; let me know how the experience is, and if you're comfortable discussing the economics of it, that'd be cool too! Enjoy! |

I am not at liberty to say what I am paying. I will say, so far, we have had a flawless experience with our engineer and so far, communication is great with Joe.
I am calling Joe in a few minutes, so I'll let you know how it goes. |

Here is Lamberts profile at TruTone: http://www.trutonemastering.com/engineer_jlambert.php
I just spoke with him, and I can tell you this....
What a stand up guy. He is making everything super easy. The process is simple, and painfree thanks to him. Utmost professional.
I recommend getting Analog mastering by him. Full $100,000 signal path, with warmth and feel...
And it only costs the cost of tape... |

| | | | You've done a great job at convincing us he's a good engineer.
When can we hear it? |

| | | | Dumbest of the dumb questions, what is "mastering?" I've always assumed, never experienced. |

Not trying to pull you away from Joe L. and I don't make any commission (no trolling spam here), but if prices or timing don't work, just let me know. |
