Pretty good TV spot for them. Since they were playing "Curl" was interested to see how the vox turned out and it was surprisingly good (for them anyway! ).
Troy is a lil light in the mix but oh well. He has a pretty sweet Streamer going on too. I read in the liner notes he was using Wicks nowadays too and on certain songs I think you can really hear that tone if you're used to what a Wick sounds like.
Definitely will be going to see them on this tour. Brent dancing around 1:14 made me lol pretty good! |

Sounds like a bad local band.
I think I like their stuff when I heard it on Pandora......will have to listen tonight.
Edit: It is the band I heard. I dig their studio stuff.

Honestly I think they sounded really weak on this. It sounded like they might have had a bad monitor mix or maybe just a bad day or something but it's definitely lacking.

I think you other guys are being TOO critical (fenderhutz and punkinfantry) . . . they're playing (and singing) LIVE on TV . . .
and of course their recordings "sound a lot better" . . . . . . |

That's why Muse played to a tape and they switched instruments when they were on Jools Holland when they played "Uprising".
Crowd never knew the difference!
TV spots are just to get your stuff in front of a lot of people at one time. The show production staff aren't overly worried IMO about your monitor or "FOH" mix all that much.
That's why even back when SNL had good bands that you knew flat out rocked on the show, the sound was always horrendous. |

| And that's a shame. Those slots are paid for and at least the show's producers can try and see if the bands/labels can get something worth paying for.

I think Matt was on drums, Dom was on bass and Chris was on guitar or something. It was funny to say the least. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
