When I heard the opening notes, I thought it was "Helter Skelter".

This to me does not work.
On more than one level.

New Beatvava album coming soon: Sgt. Pepper's In Utero Mystery Bleach Tour...

Demon_Hunter 12-13-2012 01:36 PM

I loved it. Would love to hear them work out stuff ala Them Crooked Vultures and add Jeff Beck or Jimmy Page on guitar.

josiah goldfish 12-13-2012 01:38 PM

Watched this.
So. Wrong.

IMO of course

mellowinman 12-13-2012 02:56 PM

Well, I liked it.

SolarMan 12-13-2012 03:06 PM

David Grohl just OWNED those drums. Man!

bobm2112 12-13-2012 03:16 PM

It was pretty bad IMO Much respect for all the guys to get up there and take a chance though :-)

12bass 12-13-2012 03:22 PM

The above opinions lead me to wonder what people were expecting. So, what were people expecting?

I had almost zero preconceptions.... just some curiosity about how it would turn out. From the sound of it, these guys got together for a jam and played the result for the benefit show.... It wasn't some sort of orchestrated comeback of Nirvana.... just some raw impromptu rock n' roll.

I thought it was top notch.

Great performance by " world class musicians "

My opinion, plain and simple, these are "world class" musicians that have accomplished more than most of us ever have and never will.

When you think if all the joy those guys have brought to the hearts and souls of millions I can't understand how any of could be be negative.

There's a reason those guys were up there performing and we are watching.

I had no expectations and am not a huge follower of The Beatles crew. Sounded pretty cool to me. It would be nice if McCartney were 15 years younger, but he did a great job all things considered.

I thought it was fine. What I did wonder is is why did Chris need an SVT when Macca had a Huge Mesa setup on stage?

He's just about to turn 70 like Jagger. Do you know what most 70 years olds are doing?

With the onset on Viagra, do you really want to know?

I see where you're coming from. I love The Beatles and Paul McCartney, and I grew up listening to Nirvana. But I didn't really like what I saw in the video the first time around. It just all seemed very "garage-band-ish" to me, just very loud and cacophonous, which isn't really my thing.

Of course, this is all just my personal opinion.

And, to be fair, I listened to it a second time and it's kind of growing on me.

I was kind of expecting a well-organised, rehearsed, and polished performance. Keeping in mind that it is "just some raw impromptu rock n' roll" puts it into perspective a bit more as something I can appreciate for what it is.
