Mugre | A "stunt"? This was a charity concert, the only reason they did it was to help raise money. A "stunt" implies something that helps you further your career by gaining attention. |

I was on the edge of my seat, far from boring for me.
Look at it this way, it's why they are up there in the " big time" and we're at home watching them.
Stay positive
Blue | Nirvana is nothing without Cobain ... and Paul well, he is a rock legend but calling the OP video a stellar performance... not really.
I think the difference between them and us is just they were at the right place at the right time. also ... the worst dumb music sell while the true talented people who really knowo music and have really woodshed and never stopped woodshedding only make a pitance ... all that is a freaking joke.
It is a good cause but still ... that performance isn't that great ...

Sounds like an awesome thing to me.
Edit: I don't think it was meant as a nirvana revival or to replace Kurt. It may have been joked around or called that cause its krist and Dave. But I like I said, I think it's more just household names getting together to jam. And for a good cause at that. |

Mugre | I can't find any videos of you and your band playing.
Could you post some, so I can get some perspective on these comments?

And I'm glad Paul sang instead of Grohl, still awesome he can rock that heavy stuff.

I can't believe nobody is asking about Macca's guitar? What the heck was that thing? | It was a cigar box guitar. There are a few guys out there who make some pretty nice ones.

I only wish I could have so much fun playing I n front of that kind of audience. Pat Smear looked like he was having a blast. If you don't believe in your heart that having a good time trumps artistic expression in that situation, then perhaps you need to loosen up a bit and recognize that smoking a joint with Sir Paul and playing in front of 2 billion people is way cooler than anything you will ever do...

I should qualify my statement, " in my opinion it was a stellar concert with stellar performances.
Believe me there's a lot more than being in the right place at the right time that separates us from them.
I have no idea how anyone could " hate" on what a beautiful thing those guys did.
If anything it proved there are still good people in the world doing the right thing.
Stay positive.

For us baby boomers, it's so cool to see guys like Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger and Eric Clapton that we first saw when we were 8-9 years old still performing at the top of their game after 50 years in the business.
These guys were the real deal from day one and it shows.
