Does anyone know if Paul played bass on Silly Love Songs and Junior's Farm? Just listened to these songs on my ipod (been a while since the last time I did) and forgot how much I like the bass line/tone on these two tunes.

Yes, Paul McCartney was the bass player in Wings.

OK, OK, I can see how you all can joke about my question, but I only ask because I would think that over the course of his solo career, there may have been times when he did not play bass on every single song, but instead maybe a session player did, which is why I asked my original question. If in fact he did play on every single song, then I guess I now know that for sure judging by your replies...I searched though, and coud not find that info, so thanks all for the confirmation.

He played electric bass and keyboard bass on every single Wings song that needed bass.

those octaves in the middle of Silly Love Songs rock! How easy, but sound so right for how they're used. Man.

beatles bass

by the way...
John Lennon played bass on The Long and Winding Road. George Harrison played bass on Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight from the Abbey Road album.

not to take away from Sir Paul, just a footnote.

This is true.

But getting back to Wings, as Chris-K said, only Paul played bass on Wings tracks in the studio.

I am pretty sure he played Bass on both recordings - I know he played it on silly lovesongs because 1) I saw him play it live in concert during "Wings over America" tour and 2) he has said it was one of his favorite bass parts to play
