You sound great! I admire good tapping. It's something I never really developed any skill in doing.

Sounds great. I always like seeing players doing things that I have not tried. Its a wonderful piece. Keep that one under your belt for your whole life. Its the kind of thing that non bass players and those that don't know how far bass playing has come will be astounded by. I still pull out Jeff Berlin's arrangement of Dixie from time to time. Only suggestion I would have is too keep working on it so that can groove/swing more but that will come with time for sure.

o man, timing sucked on that one... I was kinda nervous cause this was my first solo on bass infront of people.

I guess I have a lot of time to improve cause Im only 16

lol, the host at the event actually commented
"people say bass is an easy instrument and everyone can play it... but look at this guy!"

Wow there . . .

Did not suck at all. That was not what I was trying to imply with my comment about time. You are way ahead of where I was when I was 16. And at 40 I can't play that tune. The player sitting beside you was listening closely and watching and seemed to be digging what your were doing. I expect a few folks in the room were thinking: "Crap, I have to follow that?"

What was the event? Looks like a workshop in a hotel conference room.

Cool! and nice work

I tried transcribing it when i was 18 but only got 16-20 bars out of it.
10 years later i finally sat down and did the whole tune.
Keep it up... you sound great.
Here's a link to mine on a Status Empathy Six.
What bass is that on the video?

Im using a BTB405Qm, tuned E-A-D-G-C with light gauge strings... Pretty good bass, probably the best I can afford.

This was at a recital for the guitar shop I take lessons in
