I remember seeing a Me'shell segment on PBS (Sessions @ Studio......or something like that) when I lived in NY and dude was in a wicked groove something fierce! Young cat with old school soul & sensibility! I dig!
Thanks for this! |

| | | | I love Meshell! I saw her in concert with David quite a while ago. As wonderful as David is, when Meshell took over on bass duties, it was a whole different thing.. just felt a million times better. She is a true artist on the instrument. I couldn't believe the difference in the feel of the band when she played versus Dyson.
And... I only dream of being as good as Dyson.

All I get is Jaco tone! Gah! But she's the reason I'm back to playing 4 strings more! Great bassist and she's a girl!! |

KJung, +1. I saw the bitter tour and it was always groovin, but when she took over the bass, XTRAGroovin. Her time is soooo flexable.
It's like the time between her qtr notes is an ocean, and she KNOWS every ripple between. Thanks again! |

I LOVE the bassline in that song, know that she did some stuff with them, but can't seem to find if that particular song was her. |

| | | | Wow! The combination of both of their playing and the singing is so sweet. Meshell's slinky jazz bass w/ the sweet 5 string growl. Thanks for posting.
Makes you wanna --- practice! |
