Messin' around with my Sadowsky - Playalongs

Sign in to disble this ad
Just having some fun with some tunes... Sadowsky Modern > Cafe Walter Headphone Amp > Zoom H4.

http://www.ajbrown.us/bass/mp3s/josie.mp3 - Josie / Steely Dan
http://www.ajbrown.us/bass/mp3s/idontbelieveinlove.mp3 - I Don't Believe in Love / Queensryche
http://www.ajbrown.us/bass/mp3s/crazyhorse.mp3 - Crazyhorse Mongoose / Galactic
http://www.ajbrown.us/bass/mp3s/dontknowwhyiloveyou.mp3 - Don't Know Why I Love You - Brand New Heavies
http://www.ajbrown.us/bass/mp3s/STE-013.mp3 - Runaway / Jamiroquai (this one's chopped off for some reason)

I'm going to A-B these with the PJ I'm getting this week.

Be gentle.

BTW - those of you who record video, what's the best solution for running a line into the camera. I'd perfer a HD camcorder w/line-in, but there aren't many out there under $1000.

Great tone and great playing!

Too bad you couldn't remove the existing bass from a couple of those tunes and mix yours in. e.g. I would have liked to hear Josie with your part in it.

Great job. When you get your other bass it would be cool to hear the comparison of the two.

Thanks Joe. I need to find a good way to remove the bass without spending $299 for the Tascam MP3 bass trainer thing. If you know of any software that does that, I'm open for suggestions.

Thanks... the specs are:

Sadowsky Modern NYC
Ash Body / Quilt Maple Top
Nordstrand Big Singles
Sadowsky Preamp

No other effects or tone shaping... this is the bass talking.

Great playing Mr Brown. Like the tone on the Jamiroquai tune. I know you said its the same for all but nice bit of 'grit' in there.

HI

Sorry to rub it in. LOL Im a big blue fan all my life. Have to admit that was one heck of a game, regardless who u were rooting for.

Yea, the big singles rock!! I have them in two of my Sadowsky's. Both of mine, though, are placed in the traditional J bass positions. Would love to pick up a metro 24/5 or used NYC 24/5 and have them installed. Sweet, punchy, hot and loud!!

Rob

Yeah... I got to hand it to the Giants. They obviously wanted it more. Great D. Didn't know what was up with Brady looking depressed all day.

Maybe somebody paid off him and his offensive line to lose, and he was having trouble coming to terms with selling out....

HI

I think having his bell rung 24 times didnt help his attitude either. O line was not good or the G's D line was great, or both. LOL

Good playing. Might just be my headphones, but is it a little lighter on the upper strings? Noticed on the Stevie Wonder (BNH) and Jamiroquai tunes. Totally could just be on my end, hence the question.

Could very well be. There was no compression whatsoever. However, to me the balance is very good across all strings.

Sorry man,

everything I've seem so far just punches a hole in the eq frequencies where low and some mid bass is played.

Sometimes that hole has some pretty important stuff besides the bass.

But like I said...Everything was great! If you get around to it post the comparisons too!
