Are you talking our own personal bands?!

The Failure Initiative | Free Music, Tour Dates, Photos, Videos

We just did this demo recently. This definitely isn't a perfect recording. Admittedly it was rushed and I had just learned the songs before starting the recording sessions.

Plurality of Worlds was not played by me! (guitar player) Through Eyes... and Fear of the Fire would be the songs I had tracked.

Also check out.

Ravage (NEW CD NOW AVAILABLE ON METAL BLADE!!!) | Free Music, Tour Dates, Photos, Videos

Ravage was a band I was in before The Failure Initiative.

Many things have changed in the band and our sound since those song were recorded... You can sneek through our friends and find other bands you may like...

We are about to put out a brand new album soon, and have fun with it !!

Where is YOUR metalosity? How heavy do you want the metal? Are we talking like, Plutonium heavy? It is just weight or are you more about density?
What kind of reaction is this supposed to get?!

I don't think he was bad mouthing the site as much as he was just doing a pulse check on the metal community that might be on here.

I could be misunderstood.

I love how it's always the guys who don't like metal that are first to chime in on the subject about how they don't like it, then they go on to call the people "cavemen," "meth-heads," or any other insult they can come up with at the time, yet I have to ask this question: If you don't like metal, why do you even click on these forum topics in the first place? Have you nothing better to do with your time than come to some internet forum to down on people who like something that you don't? Get a life.

As far as the OP goes, I don't read that as close-minded. I read that as "I don't see much metal on here in comparison to other genres, so anyone who plays metal, post your music."

To anyone actually interested in metal, my band is in my sig. To anyone who is not interested in metal, rest assured, you won't like it, so don't bother.

EDIT: This made sense before the thread was cleaned up. Thanks for cleaning the mess up Mods.

I used to do vocals in a metal(core?) band called Calculating Collapse.

If you like the songs on myspace, you can download them for free here.

This dude has it right on. Its funny too because its always the same couple people that seem to troll for any kind of metal thread and then proceed to tear it apart. Like somehow metal music is for "immature" players/listeners or everyone that's into it is boderline mentally handicapped. Get over it already!

I can't stand country, most jazz, any kind of pop, r&b, rap. Why??? Not because it takes no talent or whatever its just not my thing. I can handle listening to it, but do I spend my time/money on it no. I also don't look for a jaco thread or any other type of "we play 40 year old cover tunes" and rip those people apart either. I could care less what someone listens to, most of all mock them for it.

I play in a "metal" band, we write originals, and are pretty damn good, even you "I hate metal" people might even like it. And I dare you to listen to our track "10 Little Things" and say its not simply "ok" or "tolerable".

Now suck it up and go check it out.

Just goto the music tab to listen.

Now back to the peace, love, and happiness that is TB

And second, I thought he was talking about good metal like Dio or Maiden, not this metal-core whatever.

You know, I like country, old school hip hop, jazz, classic rock, oldies, blues, soul... but you know what I dont like... you know what the only genre of music I despise is? METAL. Not classic metal like Maiden, but this new stuff. And most adults agree with me.
I'm not exactly a fan of what metal has become either, but I think you're being a little hard on the guy. He came on here to talk with like-minded individuals & got, well, you.

He's entitled to have a chat about whatever music style he wants without being ridiculed for it. That's his prerogative.

And seriously, I don't see this sort of metal as being equal with other types of music. It's something that only really appeals to a marginal amount of kids. How many adults do you see at Cannibal Corpse concerts? All other genres have fans that span the age spectrum. Hell, even adults listen to modern rap (which I myself despise).
Then his original post wasn't directed at you & you should probably just keep to the adult conversations.

Live & let live, dude. Metal has its fans. Let them do their thing. I'm sure you wouldn't want them bouncing over to your country thread & ragging on you for liking country.

Metal requires a certain mood. Anger comes to mind...
I love it along with other moody music. Mastodon is my favorite right now.
