So...is Bob Rock gonna do anything (produce...play bass(ha!) for this new record? God, I hope not.

They have hired Rick Rubin the guy who produced successful albums for Slayer,Red Hot Chile Peppers, Johnny Cash, Beastie Boys.
Let’s hope for the best and have our fingers crossed.

combination of rick rubin and "mr crazy crab walking bass man" should make for the next album to at least be significantly interesting!

Kirk is also doing guitar solos again so im sure at least something good is coming our way. It must cost a fortune to hire a legend like Rick Rubin for such a long time.

I hope the new album doesn't suck but I'm almost positive that it will. The Black Album was the beginning of the end for me but hey different strokes for different folks.

It's the same crap hype as with any MEtallica album for the last 15 years.
"Oh yeah this is gonna rock, we're going back to the basics".
Nothing good came out of it before, I don't expect anything.
Actually I stopped expecting anything from this band for 15 years.
