Michael McDonald on Soundstage

Caught most of this show tonight. Anyone else? They did a few Christmas tunes, one of his originals was very good!! Plus a few Doobie Brothers tunes, the sound was excellent as well.

I was trying to figure out who the bassist was, he did a great job. The gal playing the drums had an exceptional groove.

DAMN! I would have liked to have seen that. Ive always been a fan of MM, and also the Doobie Brothers, I always felt he had a great soul / bluesy kinda voice. Heck, Im even a big fan of Soundstage. Ive seen some great bands and tunes on that program.

the last time i saw michael (couple years ago) he had a guy named Lanice Morrison playing for him.

Long gray hair, playing either a Fender jazz or sadowsky jazz. Great player with impeccable groove.

This may have been the same guy, he was playing something similar to a 5 - string precision (the headstock wasn't Fender tho)

I can't help but think of "The 40 Year Old Virgin" whenever I hear about Michael anymore.

Just bought the album ""If That's What it Takes" (on vinyl) released in 1982.

Terribly cool album, I can't believe I waited this long to buy it. Especially "That's Why", "I Gotta Try", and the title track...
