Here's a few clips of the MIM Fender Jazz V I just got. I'm using it with my jazz quartet. It has Duncan single coils, no preamp. I'm running it into my LMII and LDS Ultralight 112 cab.
This is the rough mix of the recording, and it was our first gig together so it isn't as crisp as I'd like...but we just wanted to get a few tunes on CD to use in our press kit to book gigs in town. I wanted to post a couple here though because I'm REALLY digging this MIM Fender, and I have played and owned some REALLY nice jazz basses over the years! Actual Proof Jazz Crimes Footprints Liquid Streets What's Going On Butterfly Wayne's Thang
Here's a couple in action pics from that night:

i really enjoyed footprints and actual proof. great playing and sound! |

I was originally thinking about dropping a preamp in it, but I don't want to mess with the nice grindy passive tone that it has. If anything I'll just run it through an outboard pre like the Sadowsky or maybe the Xotic RC Booster. |

Yeah when I first checked on this bass she had a deal pending. When that fell through and she bumped it up in the classifieds, I ran to my computer so fast that I bumped my forehead on the monitor.
It plays just as good as it sounds, and the B string is nice and tight on it. I love dropping open low B's in the middle of tunes, and I can do it on this bass no problem at all. It'll make a nice match with the LM5 I have on order. |

I'm digging the grungy, passive groove too. You crank out a nice tone from the bass and stand out without overwhelming the band. Actual Proof is killer. |

I also plan on recording a clip of just the bass so you can really hear it on it's own. |

Too bad the decal on the headstock and the white inlay dots look cheap (on mine)
maybe I'll just paint the headstock black and paint the inlays red.

They have definitely made some improvements in recent years! |
