MORS (drum & bass stoner doom) NEW SONGS UP

Got a few songs recorded today. They're up on our Facebook page...

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Mors/125731337481772

Neon Brown, Slag, and Nicolas Rage are the new ones.

Slag features the infamous bomb note (see the band Torche), and Nicolas Rage is the first thing we've recorded in low F#. Good speakers recommended.

We got two more recorded today. Songs are called 'Jeff Ranski' and 'Repeater'.

We used a Korg D888 to record everything.

Here's the rig I used...

Sunn Concert Bass and Concert Slave, Earth 2x15 and Acoustic 2x15. Earth was micd with an SM57, the Acoustic with an old (and slightly dented) AKG D550 bass drum/bass mic. Used my Peavey T-40 (drop B) for all the songs we just did, except for 'Nicolas Rage' which I used my 2003 MIM Fender P-bass (F#BEA).

Drums were micd with CAD brand drum mics (don't know the model or whatever), an Audix F10 for overhead to get the cymbals, and an AKG D112 on the bass drum.

Everything recorded live, and full volume in my garage.

View from behind the drums...

A few times recording these songs, the vibrations from my bass rig caused the harddrive on the recorder to skip, messing up the track. Had to surround the thing with pillows to solve that problem. We were sort of on our last wind tonight with a third song, both tired as hell, and barely getting through it, and we were almost done and it skipped on us so we said screw it. We'll record it some other day.

"Mastered" everything in Fruity Loops. haha Not a program meant for such a purpose, but it does the job well enough. Basically all we really did in it was adjust levels and mess with compressors to get the sound a bit clearer/louder.

Sweet thanks a bunch for the info dude! I'll check the new tracks out later.
Drop B is what we are doing now. Looking forward to rerecording a few old tracks. And getting some new ones done too.

Ahh, found it.
Listening to the newer stuff now.

Your rig is exactly what I want to put together when I can.

Was just about to post the link in the Rigs of Doom thread for you. Glad you found it though.

You can find all sorts of awesome amps and cabs for cheap if you're patient enough.

I may eventually sell the other two cabs I use live, and get a third 2x15, stack them all sideways three high. Been thinking about it for awhile.

If you sell any 2x15's and want to ship, let me know!
I have an Ampeg B25B 2x15 on the way. I want a 2nd one identical, or another kind of 4 ohm 2x15. Then I will be using an Ampeg V4 tube head.

Sounds awesome. I don't like loud, splashy cymbals, but the music is awesome. And 'Liked' you guys as well.
