| | | | that is the most crap biased list I've ever seen. Are we talking about basslines individual bassists of different genres wank themselves into a lather over, or those truly loved & revered by the masses?
On that list I see a total of 3 potentials.

+1 on Sunshine of your Love
The simple Paul Chambers Dm line at the start of So What? on Kind of Blue.

You may not know the song, but a very recognizable bassline.
"Expressway to Your Heart" The Soul Survivors.
.......See above
"My Girl",
"Sunshine of Your Love",
"Spirit of the Radio",
"Stayin' Alive",
All AWOL from this list!
...and if you're gonna put Toots and the Maytals on there, why not "Monkey Man" instead of "Pressure Drop"?

| | | | Bernard Edwards / Chic Well a top 100 List can never be fully comprehensive but it's not bad a job, especially considering it mentions the rare whatnauts' Help is on the way.
And there is NO QUESTION the number one top first seminal bass line is Good times form b edwards / chic. Even Marcus Miller says so. Another one bites the dust is a Pale copy which was inspired by Chic and that Queen, out of their own admission, heard while they were recording in the same studio and were mind blown by it. This is heavily documented everywhere ... including in chic and queen's many biographies Another One Bites the Dust - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
that bass line , not only being genius by itself , also gave birth to hip hop sugar hill gang etc ... that is how HUGE this bass line is.
Jaco is not on the list because this is a bout best bass lines. Jaco is a top bass player, especially in impro. He could be though, I find, with Come on Come over ... but I understand why he wouldn't be on the list. I can see where this is coming from |

On that list I see a total of 3 potentials. | Kind of a combative tone there, but I agree with you too. There was a lot of Primus on that list. I don't think any Primus has seen broad enough exposure to be there, however cool it might be.

It's just a riff. Not so genius, really. It's just pop.
