Mumsdollar - Growly tone

If you go to mumsdollar.com and check out the media section, and download let me go(or look them up on myspace), the bassist has quite a 'growly' tone. How is this achieved?

I can't really hear the bassist. He's a little buried in the mix. Check out my thread HERE on what growl is and how to attain it.

I really don't know why these modern rock bands can call themselves "Punk Rock".

When I think of Punk Rock - Exploited, GBH, Dead Kennedys, Ramones etc.

I thought Punk Rock was/is all about anti-establishment, or am I just getting old?

Why is this band calling their music Punk Rock?

Nice music by the way. Could hear growl though. When I hear growl, there's always an attitude behind it.
