My attempt at fuzz/synth (found a use for my bridge PU!!!!)

Click on the sounclick link in my sig, and listen to "Synth Board Jam". Just noodleing around with my "other" board, which has been minus sansamp since I've been looking (and got ) for a roots/dub/reggae tone. Figured that I had to try out the English Muff'n with the flatwound strings sometime!!!!

Board = PlanetWaves CT-04 -> Boss NS-2 (w/ Aphex Punch Factory -> EHX English Muff'n -> Dunlop Dime Crybaby From Hell -> Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive -> 2nd Punch Factory, in NS's suppression loop) -> Boss CEB-3 -> Boss RV-5 -> PDDI (off, used as line driver/interface to record)

It starts out as just the bass, with the 2 compressors on. Then I start to turn the others on, and had quite a blast w/ some of the wah parts.

Comment/Questions/Hatred please

EDIT: Here is the direct link to the song: Lo-Fi or Hi-Fi

I liked from about 1:09 to about 2:30. Lows still in there, mids wereenjoyable, and the attack and sweeping was kinda cool. About 4:20 was neat in an ambientish way. 8:24 had a cool ring thing going on in the background... Not a huge fan of most of the others, but I was to lazy to plug the laptop into nice speakers, so that coulda been part.

Otherwise, I kinda liked the "ping" that was there when you hit a note on the cleaner bits even though I think it was unintentional.

I dunno... pretty much just made me want to drop some cash on extra pedals and play around.

Cool! Thanks for the input. Oh, and I have that effect on most of the effects forum Seems to happen everytime I buy/review a new pedal The ping was unintensional, but glad you like it

EDIT: The sweep was my CEB-3, and at 4:20 I had everything on!!!!!

- The ring in the background is my not-quite-so-filtered power supply. Does seem to go w/ the sound though...

That's awesome that everything on can manage to sound good still, and I kinda like finding unintentional noise things that actually work. If that ping were a little more uniform it'd be great for some techno-ish synthy thing... I dunno.

And I had no idea a chorus could do those sweepy sounds... I listened without reading your signal chain, and I assumed there was more than one pedal giving you that and that it was an auto wah or filter kinda thing.

Is the synth board for a band, or thrown together for fun?

Yep. The CEB is set up with the rate pointing left (real slow), and the depth at max. Set up the LPF so that the lows are left un-chorused, and the effect level so you can really hear the sweep. Great pedal, though not wet enough for some...
