...or what I've learned of it so far. This is my first attempt at tapping (used this song to pick it up) and I've been working on it for the last few weeks now. This is the first time I've tried to record it. Tell me what yall cats think.

That was damn nice actually. Did you play both parts at once, or overlay the higher stuff over the bassline?

it sounded to me like just for a little bit the bassline got a tiny bit out of time,

that being said, that's an AWSOME first attempt at tapping, I've been trying for months and still can't do anything one quarter as well done, great job man, if that's your first attempt than you're off to a tremendous future

Thanks dudes.

And yeah, locking that clave rhythm up with the quarters in the left hand is tough!

I've been trying that simple tapping groove Vic plays on the Bass Extremes video, and I'm finding that hard enough. I can't seem to get the volume even between the upper and lower registers. The upper fret stuff is like 10 times louder than the lower fret stuff, I guess because it's harder to tap on the thicker strings, closer to the nut.

Yeah, it takes some power to get them to sound with authority. It really helped me to start slowly until I was getting consistent solid tone. You need to be able to control your dynamics just like you would playing finger style or otherwise.
