My band, DreamTheater Covers

Hey All.

My band did our first gig on Monday. It was for the drummers Music Degree final year performance, hence the Dream Theater covers, but we also did one of our own songs.

Check out the drummer, he's a good find after months of searching!!!

Cant here the bass to well though because of the crappy camcorder mic but the gig was also recorded so hopefully we can add it to the recording.

I didn't listen to Erotomania.

In voices it seem to me that out of the first verse into the pre-chorus/chorus the tempo changed enough for me to notice.

Musically it was good. The solo was pretty good. The band gets bonus points for the keyboardist wearing a King Diamond shirt.

It's definately one of the better covers of a Dream Theater I've heard.

I also liked the original. If you have a studio recorded version of it I'd like to hear it or any other originals.

How did you nab Alyson Hannigan for vocals?

I know the lighting isn't great but it sures looks close.

Poor girl learnt Voices in a day, she didnt get time to experiment with the dynamics at the beginning, hence starting really low.

She's got a abs!!! Need to get some stills on the Chics at gigs thread on Bass Humour section!!!!

I remember thinking the same thing live, fortunatly its easily recoverable in this song because of the amount of different sections.

I'd love to do a studio recording of it with the vocalist putting on her own dynamics on it. (DreamTheaters great for female vocalist as Labree is just one big girl haha)
